Location: Nanchong, Jiangmen, Guangdong, China
Function: Public Station
Surface: xxx sq.m
Date: Under construction
Mission:  Architecture, Landscape, Interior

Designer: WAU
This project is located on the east side of Nanchong Water Conservancy Facilities. It has an open river view and has the conditions as a landscape node of the riverside trail and the city image display surface.

Therefore, in addition to the necessary infrastructure supporting needs, the design also hopes that it can double as an open riverside station to enrich the riverside trail tour experience, provide facilities display and explanation, public leisure areas such as restaurants and cafes, as well as the functions of climbing and watching birds.  Form a public open space with rich realization and activities.

The ground - floor space features a human - scaled design. With an open spatial form, it interacts with the surrounding environment. The second floor offers a broad view and houses leisure functions such as a restaurant and a coffee shop. While providing convenient services, it offers people a more immersive experience of enjoying the river view. The “M”-shaped roof framework, paired with the EFTE membrane - structure facade, showcases the building’s lightness and elegance, creating a hazy garden space.
The positioning of the roof curve during the construction process:

Obtain the standard shape of the bottom cross-sectional curve, and use it as a reference to position the axis and the locations of points on the plane.

The structural strategy adapts to the needs of the site and is placed in a light steel structure. The M-shaped folding line shape is soft and elegant and echoes the image of "spreading wings". The facade uses ETFE film material to form a semi-outdoor space wrapped by a light roof like tulle.
